1. Latest Research Results of Chang'e-6 Lunar Samples Released: Unveiling the "Mysterious Veil" of the Moon's Far Side

Chinese scientists, through research on the basalt samples collected by Chang'e-6 from the far side of the Moon, have revealed the "ultra-reducing" state of the lunar mantle deep in Chang'e-6's landing area, indicating that these mantles are more primitive or have been affected by large-scale impacts.

Recently, the research results published by Chinese scientists in the international academic journal Nature Communications show that the lunar mantle deep in Chang'e-6's landing area is not only "drier" and "barer" than the lunar mantle on the near side of the Moon, but also more "reducing".

2. China Successfully Launches Low-Earth Orbit Satellite Internet Group 08 Satellites

At 14:43 on August 13, China successfully launched the low-Earth orbit satellite internet Group 08 satellites from the Wenchang Space Launch Site using the Long March 5B carrier rocket with the Yuanzheng-2 upper stage. The satellites entered the predetermined orbit smoothly, and the launch mission achieved complete success. This mission marks the 588th flight of the Long March series carrier rockets.

3. 2025 World Robot Conference Showcases Over 1,000 Products with Nearly 1.5 Billion Yuan in Financing

On August 12, multiple achievements were announced at the closing ceremony of the 2025 World Robot Conference.

The conference featured 3 main forums and 31 parallel events, with 416 domestic and international experts, scholars, entrepreneurs, and representatives from international institutions sharing new technologies, products, and applications. A total of 123 new products were unveiled to the public during the event.

Notably, the conference brought together 220 renowned robotics enterprises from home and abroad, including 60 core component manufacturers, collectively displaying 1,569 products. The total financing amount reached 1.481 billion yuan (approximately 150 million USD), marking a significant milestone in promoting industry collaboration and innovation.

4. Chinese Team Develops New Programmable Chromosome Editing Technology

A team from the Institute of Genetics and Developmental Biology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, has recently developed a new type of programmable chromosome editing technology (PCE). This technology has achieved precise manipulation of multiple types of chromosomes with DNA ranging from kilobase to megabase levels in animals and plants, significantly enhancing the manipulation scale and capability of eukaryotic genomes.

Using the large-fragment DNA precise manipulation technology, researchers can not only realize multi-gene stacking editing but also open up new paths for crop trait improvement and genetic disease treatment by manipulating genomic structural variations. Meanwhile, this technology is expected to promote the development of new breeding strategies, such as achieving fertility control by manipulating genetic linkage and regulating recombination frequency, as well as eliminating linkage drag to fully release the breeding potential of excellent alleles in wild germplasm resources. In addition, the breakthrough of precise chromosome editing technology will accelerate the construction of artificial chromosomes, which also has important application prospects in emerging fields such as synthetic biology.

5. NIO's All-New ES8 Scheduled for August 21: Larger Body, Three LiDARs, Upgraded 900V Platform

NIO officially announced that the all-new ES8, built on the third-generation NT3.0 platform, will make its debut via a global live stream on August 21, with pre-sales starting simultaneously.

Boasting a 5280mm extra-large body, a three-LiDAR intelligent driving system, 900V ultra-fast charging , adding 250km of range in 5 minutes, and 0-100km/h acceleration in the 4-second range, it redefines the benchmark for all-scenario tech-luxury SUVs.
